Ipad Artwork by David Hockney

I'm always on the hunt for unique blends of art & design.  This exhibit of David Hockney's ipad art mixes gallery interior design with art and technology.  Hockney, famous for his acrylic paintings, has taken art to a whole new level by creating "paintings" using a simple ipad app.  His collection of work is busy traveling around the world, and began in the Fondation Pierre-Berge-Yves Saint Laurent in Paris.  Multiple ipads are displayed on a horizontal band of mdf, and the dark feel of the gallery contrasts with the bright electronic paintings.

Room of the Week

Bright sunlight and fun patterns make this small space seem so much larger than it really is.  The desk is perfectly at home right behind the couch, dividing the space into two separate areas.  My favorite detail is the dress form!

Engagement Session: Tailgatin' Style

I love this idea for an engagement session...can't you imagine this same concept done Hokie style? I love the drink bucket with the team logo on it, the banner flags, and the lawn chairs!  This is such a great way to tie in your alma mater if you and your fiance went to the same school.  Has anyone seen a similar collegiate engagement session?  I'd love to hear about it if you have!

Lunchtime Links: Tumblr Style!

Today's links are all tumblrs, most made by myself and friends.  We have just recently created our pages within the last few months, and they have slowly been evolving into little snapshots of our lives- each with their own distinct mood and flavor.  So be sure to browse through our pages, and if you know of any other great tumblrs, I'd love to hear about them!

Engagement Session

When I first saw this engagement session I could've sworn it was an ad campaign for Ralph Lauren.  The couple's good looks and natural style make this photo-shoot one of my all time favorites.  I love how the photographer, Matt Clayton, took a rainy day and simple farm setting to create this one-of-a-kind engagement session.

Seersucker Restaurant

I promise this week will be full of fresh blog posts.  I personally dislike it when other bloggers apologize for being absent for a while, but I truly am sorry for being m.i.a. these last few weeks.  I've spent the last weeks finishing my final studio project, working on a couple graphic design projects, and spending much needed time with family and friends.

Today's post is 100% southern...well except for the fact that its located in New York.  This restaurant just goes to show that everybody loves the south!  I stumbled upon images of this restaurant by simply googling 'seersucker'.  I saw the photo of their simple, clean logo on the window and just had to click on it.  I love their homey interior complete with chalkboards, corrugated tin paneling, and exposed brick.  Their menu includes deviled eggs, buttermilk biscuits, catfish, and grits.  All the essential comfort foods you could ever need.  I can't wait to get the chance to go to NY and eat here.  I'd love to hear comments from anybody who's ever been!  You can check out their website for their full menu, location, and prices.
