Seasonal Transitions

Big changes come with a new year.  From graduating college and going out into the real world, to getting married, finding a new home, and starting a new job.  These transitions can seem overwhelming, but as long as your surrounded by the ones you love then you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Here's a collection of transitional images that will take you from winter into spring and move you into a fresh new year.

Being bundled up under down comforters during the cold months change to sunny days filled with sheer scarves and long shadows.

Getting a new job means a major wardrobe change.  From jeans and chunky knits to pencil skirts and heels.

I love Kate Spade's transition from season to season.  This plaid satchel is perfect for winter, while this bright cheery nautical bag would be the perfect compliment to white shorts and flip flops.

Pillows, blankets, and sweaters have been perfect while I'm lounging making wedding plans, sending caterer's emails, and calling photographers.  Oh and did I mention my dress?  And the girls dresses?  I can't wait to ditch the warm clothing and slip into something a little fancier.

Seasons change as the holidays fade, but the memories made will last forever.  So cheers to 2011, a fresh year with many transitions ahead.

Room of the {Back to Work} Week

How inspired would you get everyday if you got to go to work in this office?  I thought this space would be the perfect kickstart to this seems-so-long week.  The nautical touches on the top shelf combined with the kelly green accents are so refreshing.  I love the potted flowers and the light, open quality that this organized office has.

Albert Reichmuth Wine Store

Talk about branding.  This wine store in Zurich transforms wine cases into display shelves, checkout counters, and seating.  Even the pendants evoke a wine bottle-esque shape.

Fresh Corporate Interior on a Newly Found Site

Jessie discovered Furfin, an architecture and interiors site that houses more than just pretty pictures.  Furfin sorts the interiors by category and serves as an online database for lighting, millwork, and textile manufacturers.  Its a great tool for specifying projects and getting inspired by existing projects.  This office space in San Francisco is just one of the amazing spaces featured on their site.

Designed by Cary Bernstein Architects, One & Co.'s San Francisco office is housed in a renovated brick warehouse.  The interior furnishings and color scheme take a step back to highlight the existing architectural features.  The fairly open floor plan is divided acoustically by transparent glass and visually by pops of color walls and ceiling planes.

A Beachy Interior for this Cold Weather

This beach house is completely different from any other beachy home I've ever seen.  This Italian vacation spot is the beach home of Annette Joseph and was featured on Design Sponge and Little Bits of Lovely.  Its modern style and neutral color palette make this space irresistible.  I love the pops of orange and chocolate and would give anything to escape from this cold weather for a vac-cay here!

Puppy Antics

I would sit for hours and just watch the puppies play if I could.  Here's a little taste of what their rainy days are like.  Tussle, play, growl, box, tussle, play, tussle, box...

Architectural Facade: Wyne Sales Gallery

I discovered this stunning facade on Aubrey Road.  This condominium in Bangkok, Thailand was featured on ArchDaily and designed by Supermachine Studios.  I can't get over the simple geometries and the form's light, almost floating quality.
